Who is a Ngangkaṟi ?
Ngangkaṟi means healer in Pitjantjatjara language. The Ngangkaṟi members of ANTAC are Aboriginal traditional healers from different communities in the APY lands located in the far north-west of South Australia. Ngangkaṟi hold a very ancient healing knowledge and practices handed down from generation to generation since time immemorial. The Ngangkaṟi came together to form their own organization - ANTAC - in order to reach out as many people as possible across different communities in Australia.
Can ngangkaṟi treat non-Aboriginal people ?
Yes. Ngangkaṟi do not make distinctions between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people in need of physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual health and well-being. Ngangkaṟi always say that we all have only one spirit, no matter where we come from or what language we speak. We are all the same.
What kind of ailments ngangkari treat ?
Ngangkaṟi treat physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual ailments. Ailments include pain management, headaches, stomach ache, joint and muscle pain, stress, anxiety, reproductive health, child health, palliative care. Ngangkaṟi are specialised in assessing spiritual imbalances and reposition the spirit to reestablish spiritual, emotional and bodily balance. Ngangkaṟi can also deal with spiritual interferences and ailments caused by such interferences.
