The aromatic leaves and pink flowers are still used today to make a pleasant and soothing warm tea. Ngangkari women handpick irmangka-irmangka across the semi-desert areas of South Australia to prepare this bush tea to support the health and wellbeing of their families.
Irmangka-irmangka leaves and flowers are hand harvested and dried up in the beautiful and colorful handmade raffia baskets. Irmangka-irmangka bush tea exhibit important medicinal properties such as anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties. These properties make irmangka-irmangka bush tea a wonderful infusion for cleansing, soothing cold and cough, and to sustain general wellbeing.
Carefully hand packed in sealable recyclable paper bags, irmangka-irmangka bush tea can be now be tasted and used by anyone. Being a powerful plant, you can place a teaspoon of leaves in a cup, add hot water and let it brew for 3-5 minutes. Smell and taste vary from a light/gentle flavor to a stronger one depending on how long the leaves are left brewing in the cup. Same leaves and flowers can be used several times by adding hot water. The smell and taste will become lighter with the application of hot water over time.
